Our golf club can look back on a long tradition. It is laid in the absolutely wonderful mountain scenery of the Salzkammergut and surrounded by its beautiful deep blue lakes. Already in 1937, when playing golf wasn’t well known yet in Central Europe, Edward Duke of Windsor came to play golf at our course. The following decades the “Golf Club Bad Ischl” helped to develop the game of golf in Austria.

Because of the extension to a 18 hole course, supraregional publicity for the game of golf, big sports success, and international events the club became a solid footing, which led to the economical independence of today.

Tournaments with world-class players like Severiano Ballesteros, Mark Mc Nulty, and Gordon Brand made our club and the sport itself popular in our region, and we are going on with that tradition.

In May 2002 the double Masters winner, best European player in 2002, number two in the USA – JOSÉ MARIA OLAZABAL – showed finest golf at our course for two days.


During the summer season a generous, new driving range with bunker and chipping green invites you to train. Our Pro, XXX looks at the individual needs of his students from every angle. His lessons are supported by the latest computer and video technology. The club takes care that also guest can afford the prices for the range and our Pro. Modern machinery allows us to tend the ground perfectly.


The course has plain, rising and falling fairways, which are completely integrated into the natural landscape. In spite of the nature, which catch one’s eyes everywhere, the water and the trees, offers our course a fair lay out. Also less well shots get excused and losses of balls are rare. The “Greens of Ischl” have the best reputation, even supraregional.
Modern golf cars and of course Hannes Hettegger’s well known Pro-shop, with its first class selection and its possibility to test are at your service.

The clubhouse offers modern cloakrooms and sanitary facilities. Anyway you should try the first-class cuisine and the excellent winery of our new restaurant chefs

Who also likes to play golf in winter, finds the perfect conditions in our region. Additionally the ex-champion Franz Laimer offers classes a golf performance centre, of course also in winter.
